Staycation / Vacation
At the top of our ‘what mums want’ list is a staycation or a vacation. Which is unsurprising considering that there is nothing more precious to a tired, busy mum than some rest and relax time.
For staycations, we suggest visiting a hotel in Singapore that has a kids club so that mummy (and daddy) can truly have some me time. For a truly indulgent experience, the Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore has just launched a new spa in partnership with luxury beauty brand La Mer. The first luxury hotel in Asia Pacific to do so, the highlight is the Timeless Indulgence (S$680, 90mins), a treatment performed by two therapists that combines the La Mer Miracle Broth facial with a pampering foot care regime. If mama happens to be pregnant, she would really appreciate a visit to Capella’s Auriga Spa that offers a babymoon treatment package (S$350++, 2h30mins) that includes a prenatal massage, organic rose facial, hair and scalp treatment and afternoon tea.
Electronic Gadgets
Electronic gadgets were also a popular choice with our mummies, presumably because they help make mummy’s life easier.

Beauty Products
Every mum loves to take care of her skin so it’s unsurprising that beauty products made it onto the wishlist. There are some lovely Christmas sets on the market to choose from. GlamGlow’s Gift Sexy Coremud Set (S$120, from Escentials) for example comes with four mud treats to treat every skin concern, whereas Kiehl’s x Jeremyville Richly Hydrating Hand Creams set (S$39) comes with a trio of the brand’s cult classic Ultimate Strength Hand Salve in a package featuring the designer’s funky artwork.

Room Scents
There’s nothing quite like some good ol’ aromatherapy when down time is needed so some room scents will make great presents for a mum. We love local artisanal fragrance label Six Fragrances and their premium grade home scents with exotic names the likes of 123 Tribeca and 1724 Pukka. Bags
Every woman loves a good bag and mums are no exception. This Christmas, why not splurge and gift mummy dearest a new bag that she’d love. Choose either a glamorous bag such as the Miu Miu Matelassé leather shoulder bag that will take her easily from day to night or a chic practical one such as a black Bucket bag from Mansur Gavriel (S$870, from Laprendo).
