I had long heard about Sugar(ed) that offers a gentle hair removal treatment known as sugaring, and was excited to try out their latest treatment – the Vacial, in time for a resort vacation. I arrived at the outlet along Bukit Timah Road and was greeted by a cosy reception and some cheerful therapists.

Sugaring Process

The renowned sugaring process at Sugared uses a natural paste made from sugar, lemon, and water, which is both eco-friendly and gentle on the skin. It’s so natural that you can even eat it, according to my therapist, or Sugarist as they are known here!

NEW: The Vacial

Expanding its offerings to include Vacial now – a facial for the vulva area; this new 6-step treatment combines the benefits of traditional facials with advanced vacuum technology and formulated to deeply cleanse, exfoliate, and rejuvenate the skin, leaving it glowing and refreshed.

The treatment begins with a thorough consultation to assess your skin type and concerns, ensuring a personalised approach. The process involves using a specialised vacuum device to gently extract impurities, unclog pores, and remove dead skin cells. Next, the hydrating and nourishing steps, such as serums and the signature mud mask, help replenish the skin and enhance its natural radiance.

Immediate Results

The immediate results of the treatment were obvious. My skin felt smoother, looked brighter, and appeared more even-toned after just one session.  My Sugarist, Nana, was professional, attentive and skilled. She was friendly and took the time to ensure that I was comfortable throughout the process, making the experience as relaxing and painless as possible. The salon’s clean ambiance further enhances the overall experience, allowing me to feel at ease during their treatment. Suitable for all skin types and expectant mothers, the Vacial is ideally done in between your Brazilian sessions and is an excellent option for those looking to treat themselves to a deep cleanse and glow-boosting session at an often-neglected area of the body. Priced at $48, the treatment is slightly more expensive than traditional facials, though the quality and results justify the cost, as Sugared delivers a smooth and satisfying experience that keeps clients coming back for more.  Relevant Reads: Review: The Phantom of the Opera, Two Lips Experience Store and Rosebud Vajuvenation Images are courtesy of Sugar(ed)
