PORTA is supposedly a secret warehouse and a home to the owner; It is nice and cosy and what’s really cool about the place is the little nicknacks displayed around – treasures that have been collected the world. That personal touch really does add to the homeliness of the place.
We had a taste of PORTA’s new additions to their refreshed ala carte menu and brunch menu specially crafted by their new executive chef, Alex Phan.
Starting off with appetisers of Tuna Tartare marinated with shallots, herbs, soy dressing and daikon salad, and the Sweet Potato and Kale with tahini and walnuts – okay so, I’m not a big fan of eating greens but oh boy the sweet potato and kale salad totally won me over.
Wild Mushroom Orecchiette
Wild Mushroom Orecchiette, 12-hour Braised Beef Short Rib with charred broccolini and curry mash, Norwegian Salmon served with a creamy, spiced pumpkin puree. The dish features an uncommon pairing of curry mash which turned out to be surprisingly subtle.
