Mum Crush: Jessica Alba

Actress, businesswomen and mother to three, Jessica Alba is our mum crush this week.

On Screen Jessica got her start in television and movies at the age of thirteen, appearing in Camp Nowhere and The Secret World Of Alex Mack. She had her big break when she was nineteen years old as the lead in the Fox sci-fi series, Dark Angel. She’s appeared in many films since including The Eye (the remake which won her a teen choice award), Spy Kids: All the Time in the World, Sin City, Fantastic 4 and Good Luck Chuck.

Business She launched, together with Christopher Gavigan, The Honest Company, selling a collection of household goods, diapers and body care products. As of 2014, the company was valued at USD$1 billion.

Magazines She has been on Maxim Magazine’s Hot 100 multiple times from 2001 right up to 2014, voted as the fifth Sexiest Female Star in Hollywood, People Magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People, 100 Most Beautiful list in 2007, and Playboy’s 25 Sexiest Celebrities in 2006.

Charity She strongly supports and participates in campaigns like Clothes Off Our Back, Habitat For Humanity and National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children. She is an ambassador for the 1Goal movement where they focus on providing education for children in Africa. She is also an ‘Angel’ ambassador for Baby2Baby – which donates and distributes essentials; diapers and items of clothing to families in Los Angeles.

Family She met her husband on the set of Fantastic Four in 2004. Jessica and Cash Warren got married after four years of dating and have two daughters, Honor Marie Warren and Haven Garner Warren and as of Jan 2018, a son, Hayes Alba Warren. IG @jessicaalba.
