Fitspo Friday: YouTube Workout Mums

By Samantha Jong
January 6, 2017

We know that being a mum leaves you with little time to go to the gym. Here’s the good news, you can get your fitness fix at home and with an instructor guiding you along the way to boot. These five mums have made it their mission to help other mummies get in shape through teaching exercises that use things you will have at home — think milk bottles and babies — or simple equipment that don’t take up too much space at home. Plus, they share their knowledge via YouTube so everyone can have easy access to them.

Gaining weight after her first child spurred single mum Natalie Jill to a path of fitness without using any fancy equipment and she hasn’t looked back since. Now a health coach, she maintains that anyone can have abs without crazy diets or non-stop crunches, and you can find more than 200 videos that target specific areas you may want to work on. As someone with celiac disease, she advocates having a gluten-free diet and shares practical tips through her videos too.

Amy Kiser Schemper

This Los Angeles-based personal trainer is one hot mama! As a new mum-of-one, Amy Kiser has her own playlist of BabyFit by Amy Post Natal Workouts, including one with baby wearing exercises and one mummy and me workout. Her fitness journey started after she started gaining weight in her freshman year in university, only to have the numbers continue increasing from there. Amy then realised small but consistent changes to her lifestyle can help to shed the weight, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Flavia Del Monte

Flavia Del Monte is a paediatric nurse married to best-selling fitness author, fitness expert and fitness model Vince Del Monte, and the pair have two adorable children together. Having stayed fit through sports when she was younger, she started putting on weight after starting work full time, and then turned to the gym to lose some of her flab. However, it was only after she started looking into nutrition did she realise the importance of making good food choices. After appearing in a few of Vince’s videos, she was flooded with requests from other women looking to make the same changes she did and has since gone on to help many other women.
