KISS 92FM Radio Presenter, author of 99 Rules For New Dads and dad of two – Shan Wee is our dad crush of the week. By Oriella Onni
Hailing from Ireland, Shan Wee got his start on local radio as a presenter for 987FM. In 2012, he left radio and moved to Bali to run an events company – circumstance brought him and his wife back to Singapore where he dove right back into radio with One FM 91.3, co-presenting with Cheryl Miles before transitioning to Kiss 92FM last year.
This talented daddy has also graced our screens; in 2005, way before marrying his beautiful wife, the hunk was a contestant on reality dating show, An Eye for a Guy II with Denise Keller. He has also presented on multiple television shows and authored 99 Rules For New Dads, a book inspired by his boys and his role as a dad.
In the book, he shares tongue-in-cheek tips, tricks and his experiences raising his two boys.
2017 is the year that I became a published author! “99 Rules For New Dads” is a funny and easy to read guide for new fathers or parents with young children. Most parenting books are aimed at the mothers so I think it’s nice to have a humorous book from the Dad’s point of view.
Shan married, his wife, Artika Sulaiman in 2011 and together they have two boys, Ciaran, five and Ruan, three. You can catch more of him through The Straits Times (Weekend Edition) parenting column and through his creative Instagram feed.
You get one book choice Ciaran…..ah my biggest fear, awesome. 😖 #99rulesfornewdads #bedtimestories #phobia . . I remember one day at the zoo when @artikasulaiman carried toddler Ciaran close to a snake that was being specially displayed by a zoo keeper. She was pathologically terrified, but she didn't want her son to miss out on account of her fears. That impressed me. So reading these 24 pages of Nope was the least I could do. #dadlife #dadsforlife #fatherhood #kidssg #momlife #parenting #sgdad
