Known for being one of the professional dancers on Dancing With The Stars, Maksim Chmerkovskiy is our this week’s dad crush.
Masksim began dancing at four when his parents decided to enrol him into a school of aesthetic education and was sent to ten-dance competitions – a combination of Ballroom and Latin Dance.
The Chmerkovskiy family moved to Brooklyn in 1994 giving him the opportunity to dedicate himself to dance.
He first appeared on Dancing with the Stars in season two and came in sixth place with dance partner Tia Carrere – Tango being their biggest achievement. He went on to appear on the show for the next fifteen seasons! Masksim’s first win was in season eighteen when he paired with Olympic ice dancer, Meryl Davis.
He’s also starred on Broadway and worked as a choreographer for Zendaya’s music videos.
Maksim Chmerkovskiy is married to fellow dancer, Peta Murgatroyd. They welcomed their first child, Shai Aleksander on 4 January 2017.
