Love twinning with the whole family? Up your style game this Chinese New Year with brand new outfit ideas for the whole family; even your pets.

Twinning for the Whole Family

Maison Q

We love this set of 100 per cent cotton matchy matchy outfits for the whole family. It features designs in the motif of hide-and-seek between Maison Q‘s exclusive cast of characters. These include the mouse, TangMi, XiaoAn the Crane, XiaoXiong the Panda and Little Kai the Fish. Try spotting them in the various outfits ($45 to $89).

For this CNY 2020 collection, the smaller size range from 6M to 7Y is reversible, so your little ones will always be matching. Even better, there are tops for everyone from 8Y to adult, so the whole family can be matching regardless of age – although their tops aren’t reversible.

The Elly Store

The Elly Store has two collections for this Chinese New Year. You’ll find Peranakan and batik-inspired motifs in the first, and everyone’s favourite mouse, Mickey, in the Disney x elly collection.

For the whole family, choose from a few collections, namely the Fanfare, the Zodiac, Heron, Butterfly Kites and Red Lantern series. These feature a cute top or cheongsam for Mum, a Mandarin-collared shirt for all the boys (yes, even Dad!), pretty cheongsams and dresses for the girls and an adorable romper or dress for the babies. Prices range from $49 to $279.

Arcade

Arcade‘s first capsule collection features loads of fun prints for the Chinese New Year season, great for the whole family. Opt for the whole family to wear the same printed Mahjong Club Shirt in sky (the mini version is unisex). Out of all the options in this list, it’s also the only one where dad can get a full outfit from the men’s collection.

Also in their collection are pineapple and abstract prints, however, this is best for kids to twin with each other, as mum’s outfits are mostly sold out. Prices range between $32 to $39.

Neonmello

Rife with a ton of options for the family, the CNY Collection from Neonmello is perhaps the largest of all the brands in this list. Families can choose from six looks with cheery prints, such as the Spring ReunionCerelia WhaleFruits of SaharaGeorgette TropicsEleanor Geometric and Joyton.

Each of these provides a few options for the girls, and short-sleeved tops for the guys. Mum and daughter can choose from up to three dress options each, with an additional top for mum. Prices range from $23.90 to $43.90, and sizes run from one to six years for the kids’ collection.

Chubby Chubby

The Chubby Chubby collection takes “for the whole family” to a new level – it even has matching accessories for your pets! Out of all the collections, we love the Colourful Infinity Huat and the Victory Yay ones. These include shirts for the boys – yes dad too – and playsuits and dresses for the girls.

Meanwhile, babies get super adorable rompers, while the furry members of the family get a shirt and bandanna. Prices range from $22 to $158. It’s also a rare chance for dad to take the matchy matchy spotlight since mum’s sizes are all sold out.

Twinning for Two

Oeteo

Oeteo’s Chinese New Year collection derives its inspiration from the traditional Chinese folk art, Jianzhi (literally, “cut paper”). Its designs reflect intricate details of pineapples, spring and Chinese lanterns for a festive touch. The collection ($39.90 to $42.90), great for newborns up to four year olds, comprises a range of looks so your children can twin. These include rompers for your babies, as well as two-piece outfits for older children (up to four years old).

Often, these include accessories, like the Little Gentleman set with bow, comprising wide leg shorts and a crew neck t-shirt with faux vest and little bowtie. Hence your toddler can still look sharp with minimum fuss. For slightly older children, choose the Missy Mandarin Collar Set, combining wide leg bottoms with a cap-sleeved, mandarin collar top. Parents wanting to match their children need only to find outfits in the same hue of blue or red.

Love, Bonito

We love the super cute Tutti Frutti print from Love, Bonito‘s CNY collection, where mums can wear the midi Amboree Sash Tie Camisole Dress. Their daughters can wear either Nicoline Shorts and Nickelle Camisole Top, or the Yakira Pleated Camisole Dress.

Otherwise, choose the ruffled sleeve series, available in lilac or red, where mum can wear Amabel or the Alibeth midi dress, and your daughters (one to five years old) can dress in either the Artemisia romper or the Corisande top. Other options include the sunny yellow Calista reversible dress that can be worn from the front or back, and the Amethyst tie back midi jumpsuit. Prices range from $29.90 to $51.90.

Ohvola

In this capsule collection for CNY, Ohvola has launched two designs in their Ohvola Mini range. These designs are the Mini Ashton and the Mini Mallory dresses, suitable for children from one to four years old. To complete their look, add on the cute hairbands from the collection.

Perfectly complementing these dresses are the ladies’ range with the Mallory Eyelet Babydoll Midi Dress ($47.90) in white and dusty pink, exactly like the mini version, as well as the Ashton Babydoll dresses ($39.90) in mulberry and pink. Prices for the Mini range start from $29.90 to $30.90.

Fayth

There are plenty of gorgeous, wearable twinning outfits for mum and daughter in Fayth‘s collections – perfect for any occasion, even Chinese New Year. However, for their Lunar New Year 2020 collection, there are three distinct looks – peony jacquard cheongsams, cupcake layered dresses and the fiesta flutter dresses. Prices range from $32.90 to $47.90, and sizes range from one to six years old for the kids’ selections.

Other choices for mums looking for a slightly different cut in the same pattern include the Spring Song Layered Dress in wine like the mini’s cupcake dress. Another design for the peony jacquard pattern is the A-line midi dress, which costs $49.90 and will be available 15 January onwards.
