Having missionary parents, she spent most of her childhood trotting around the globe. Our mum crush this week is Canadian Musician, Lights Poxleitner-Bokan.
She plays the guitar and in high school, sang for metal band, Shovel Face and later wrote for Sony/ATV Music Publishing and composed music for television series, Instant Star.
Her song “Drive My Soul” reached number eighteen on Canadian Hot 100 in 2008 which led to her record deal with Underground Operations, a Canadian based record label and a partnership deal with Warner Bros. and Doghouse Records in the US later that year.
Lights has won multiple awards in Candian Music Week and the Juno Awards. One of her albums, The Listening was awarded a gold certification by the Candian Recording Industry.
Lights is married to the lead singer of metalcore band, Bless The Falls. Lights and Beau Bokan got married in 2013 and together they have a daughter, Rocket Wild Bokan who was born in February 2014.
Rocket travels and tours with her musician parents.
Here’s a quick look at her Instagram feed.
