Mummyfique is right here to guide you along with inspiration and tips this week, leading up to Halloween. Stay tuned, ladies… it is time to get your Halloween game on. To get you started, here are three tutorials from some of the biggest makeup artists on YouTube.

Holographic Unicorn

Star vlogger Kandee Johnson has put together a tutorial on the ‘tear duct’ trend that will serve a wide range of mythological costumes this year. For that shimmery inner eye, Kandee suggests using light pastel base eyeshadow and a vibrant, candy-toned eyeliner, before dabbing a primer or white eyeliner around the tear duct. Dab holographic eyeshadow and layer colours to make it look as multi-dimensional as necessary. Complete the look with a sexy little (white) ensemble, a rainbow wig and a unicorn horn.

Sophisticated Vamp

You don’t have to go overboard for an awesome Halloween look – celebrity makeup artist Lisa Eldridge explains how to master a vampish beauty look that would work just as well for a wicked stepmother or sexy vamp costume as it would on the red carpet.

The look revolves around a very dark, berry-toned lip colour, and a flawless base before a touch of highlighter to amp up the cheekbones. She blends champagne, neutrals, and shimmer on the eye and finishes with a perfect winged flick. Complete the look with a sexy, little number and killer heels.

Full-on Scary

If on the other hand, you take your Halloween makeup very seriously, then you might want to take advice from star vlogger Emma Pickles, who’s created this bloody sugarskull.

Start with drawing outlines, and fill in with white face paint A dark smokey eye, defined brows and a dark lip PLUS contact lenses add such sinister to the look. Draw in and shade teeth and get creative with blood. Alcohol-based fake blood dries faster and has better longevity especially in our humidity.

Add to the scare with torn, bloodied clothes and stipple on some blood paste all over.
