Dress the Bump: Sonya Davison

Dress the Bump Sonya Davison

Kickstarting Mummyfique’s Dress The Bump series is the face of RTL CBS Asia Entertainment Network – Sonya Davison. Born in Thailand and raised across Asia, Sydney and London, Sonya currently calls Singapore home. The uniquely exotic Pan-Asian beauty sails from Chinese/Thai and British parentage.

Sonya’s foray into the public eye was at the tender age of 15 when she started modelling.  After landing a Sony commercial and Celcom campaign, it didn’t take long for more brands to follow – Ponds, Sunsilk, Nikon, Panasonic and Nestle, among others.

In 2008, Sonya competed against renowned actresses in Asia and landed her very first acting assignment – a speaking role in the Hollywood film ‘Fair Game’, alongside Naomi Watts and Sean Penn. She has also appeared in several music videos.

Since relocating to Singapore, Sonya has been seen in the popular interior design reality show ‘The Apartment’ and she has landed print and television jobs with international and local brands like Biore, UOB, Starhub, Dulux, Pioneer and Honda. Most recently, Sonya featured in the commercial for luxury apartments Cairnhill 9.

The new mummy to twin boys (they are only a few days old!) has been capturing the hearts of the Mummyfique team with her amazing maternity style showcased on her popular Instagram page @SonyaDavison.

In celebration of the birth of her children, we take a look back at some of Sonya’s favourite looks for dressing her bump for every occasion.

25 weeks bump: Midi dresses are the new need-it-now length of the season for dresses. Midway through your pregnancy, maternity clothing aren’t necessary yet and some lucky few might get through the entire 40 weeks without a shred of maternity clothing! Work the midi trend with a form fitting solid-coloured number that’s just the right amount of sass and fierce. Plus points for high slits and interesting back designs. Sonya: "This wasn't a maternity dress, but I bought it as it was stretchy and I figured I could fit in it for a little while - I wore this to have lunch at the beach with the hubby and paired it with my sunnies, a large tote and stylish sandals."
