Dad Crush Monday: Channing Tatum

By Samantha Jong
January 9, 2017

You’ve swooned over him on the silver screen, now get ready to gush over him in real life. Our dad crush of the week is none other than Channing Tatum!

Most of us would remember him from the silver screen adaptations of Nicholas Sparks’ bestsellers, Dear John and The Vow, as well as his long list of award-winning movies. He also starred in 21 Jump Street and its sequel, 22 Jump Street, with lovable funny man Jonah Hill, and put his past experience as a stripper to good use in Magic Mike and again in the squeal, Magic Mike XXL.

Luckily for fans, they will soon be able to see Channing on the big screen again – he will be in the sequel of Kingsman: The Secret Service, Kingsman : The Golden Circle, which will open later this year.

I'm about to get all up in that Golden Circle. #Kingsman

Given his big screen success, it’s not surprising that he has been on the cover of more than just one magazine, looking as if he’s looking right into your soul with his piercing eyes.

His wife Jenna sure is a lucky woman as the couple is known to have one of the sweetest relationships in Hollywood. They first met on the set of dance movie, Step Up.

The pair got married in 2009 after dating for three years, and had daughter Everly in 2013.

Happy 3rd anniversary to #ChanningTatum and #JennaDewan!!!

He’s not just eye candy either; Channing has a great eye for photos. Just look at the photos that he has taken of Jenna. If only we could have a Instagram husband like him.

It's not hard to take a beautiful picture of this magical creature. But I thought this one was special. #leicaQ

Look at how beautiful this shot of Everly, who rarely makes an appearance in her parents’ photos.

Girl and her goat. RIP Heather. You had a damn good long run sweets.

We love that he is so openly affectionate with his wife. He has called her beautiful, his “rainbow” and “pot of gold”, and has the cutest pet name possible for her – cake! Check out the lovely video that he made for Jenna’s birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to @jennaldewan, the best mommy and wifey in the whole world!!!

Nothing, though, can eclipse this post that he made to Jenna as he talked about how his love grew even stronger after she became a mummy. And the quote by Theodore Hesburgh that he ended off with, “The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother,” we agree that this should be the golden rule that husbands follow.

I took this just days after jenna and I (mostly jenna) brought our little girl into the world. I've taken many like it over the past 3 years but this is one of my favorites. She was so tired. Haha. But she has such deep strength and other worldly grace. Watching her in those first days transform into a mother was life changing. She was every bit the beautiful, sexy, funny, flawed creature I fell in love with. But the prism turned and showed a whole new light that I had no idea existed, the light of a mothers love. Thank you for that baby. Saw this quote today –" The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother. Theodore Hesburgh" there are a lot of important things in being a father. Who knows what the most important thing is? All I know is that in my case this is pretty high on my list. Love you cake!

And what a great dad he is too. Why else would he let his little girl put ‘warpaint’ on him.

Braveheart paint by Evie, new rescue horse named Cajun on a sunset ride. Thanks for all the birthday wishes
