You probably recognise Ashton Kutcher as the funny guy who has made you laugh on the big and small screen but did you know that he is also a television producer, venture capitalist and the very first  Twitter user to hit one million followers. These are just some of the many things that this multi-talented dad of two has put on ever since he stepped into the entertainment industry two decades ago.

Born as Christopher Ashton Kutcher, he started out as a model and shortly after signing with an agency, he got his first small screen break when he was cast as the lovable male-bimbo, Michael Kelso, in That ’70s Show. Little did he know that his then-on-screen girlfriend would eventually become his wife and the mother of his two children. We think that Mila Kunis didn’t see it coming either.

That 70s’ Show isn’t the only television show that the actor has starred in. He played billionaire Internet entrepreneur, Walden Schmidt, in the hit sitcom, Two and a Half Men from 2011 to 2015. His performance impressed Two and a Half Men’s producer Jim Patterson so much that Jim approached Ashton to star in The Ranch, a Netflix original series.

Ashton has also headlined several Hollywood films. He first gained public recognition as the lead of Dude, Where’s My Car? and went on to star in a string of romantic comedies, including Boss’s Daughter,  A Lot Like Love, What Happens in Vegas and No Strings Attached.

While he may excel in comedy, he has proven that he is a versatile actor by taking on roles in the psychological thriller, The Butterfly Effect, and the biographical Jobs.

Not content to just be in front of the camera, Ashton has also dabbled in roles behind the scenes. He served as executive producer and host of Punk’d, which most people would remember for the outrageous pranks played on celebrities such as Justin Timberlake, Drake and Kim Kardashian. The series was a hit with viewers and it took home the Teen Choice Award for Choice TV: Reality Series in 2012. Punk’d merely marked the start of his career as a producer and he has served as executive producer on several TV shows including True Beauty, Beauty and the Geek and Forever Young.

As if working both in front and behind the camera weren’t enough to fill up his schedule, Ashton is a venture capitalist who has successfully invested in several technological start-ups, including now familiar names such as Skype, Airbnb, Uber and Foursquare. He certainly has the eye for knowing what will become the next big thing it seems. When asked about the type of start-ups that interest him, he said: “I want to know that the idea is audacious, that something has a gigantic, total addressable market… but I like it when it doesn’t at first land in your ear right. It needs to almost seem nonsensical.”

This talented dad isn’t just interested in lining his pockets. Ashton is a big advocate of social causes and over the years, he has donated to charities such as Habitat For Humanity and built homes for the needy. In 2009, he established Thorn: Digital Defenders of Children with his ex-wife, Demi Moore, to protect children from sexual exploitation.

He is also firm believer in spreading positive messages and founded A Plus, a website and mobile app that enforces positive journalis and aims to made a difference in this world through positivity.

He may have a lot on his plate but Ashton always makes time for his little ones. Admirably, he and Mila are raising their children without the help of a nanny as they believe this will help them form deeper connections with their little ones. Their older daughter Wyatt Iasbelle Kutcher, who was born in 2014, was named while the couple were tossing out random names on the way to a Lakers game. They then welcomed a son, Dimitri Portwood in November 2016.

Ashton is certainly an involved dad and one of his favourite things to do is to bring the kids to watch sports.

Just how much does Ashton adore his little family? Enough to gush about each member of his family on national television – how many men would publicly declare that their wife is always right, the way that Ashton did?

Interestingly enough, for a guy so involved with new technology and being in the limelight all the time, Ashton has decided to keep his personal life out of the news, the birth of his children being one of the main motivators, as he believes that his children should have the right to decide for themselves whether or not they want to have their lives be open to public scrutiny.

Though he may be sharing less on social media about his personal life, we are sure that we’re still going to hear lots from him be it in front of or behind the camera, or in the tech world. After all, Ashton is really good at what he has dabbled in thus far.
