As we kick off the September school holidays, we bet many of you mamas out there are frantically trying to plan a series of activities to entertain the little ones. As it’s a really short break for the kids, there are many who will decide against a trip abroad but there are still some activities that you can do with your children to make the September holidays a memorable and fulfilling one. With that in mind, we’ve put together a five day activity guide that we hope will help take the stress out of the planning.
Monday — BOUNCE INC
Bounce, soar and climb a wall with your child at BOUNCE, a spring loaded urban playground in the heart of Orchard Road. With over 24,000 sq. feet of colourful, circus-grade padding, giant air bags, and interconnected trampolines, this playground offers a wide range of fitness activities to entertain the little ones.
There are designated jumping zones for children three years and above (or under 110cm tall) that allows them to jump and do some ‘aerial sports acrobat’ without injuring themselves.

Tuesday — ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ by Act 3
For a culture hit, introduce your mini to the classic fairy tale of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’. Act 3 International’s entertaining production of the story follows Jack’s adventures after he sells his family’s only cow for five magic beans. As the show is located at the National Library Building, a post show visit to the library for some quality reading time would be a great way to pass the rest of the day by.

Wednesday — Botanic Garden

If the haze isn’t an issue, a mid-week trip to the Botanic Gardens for a picnic is a fantastic idea as it provides the kids an opportunity to connect with nature. Research has shown that children who are frequently out in the open with a good amount of sunlight are less prone to wearing glasses. Now there’s a little tip for you!
What to bring:
- Water, cookies and some sandwiches
- Insect repellent (really important given that Zika has grown into a problem)
- Wet wipes or towel
- Sunblock
- Raincoat and umbrella (in case it rains)
- Picnic mat

Thursday — Kidzania
It is never to early to introduce your kids to the concept of hard work and career progression. And you can do precisely that at Kidzania — an interactive indoor playground where children get to try their hands at different jobs. By giving the little ones an insight to the world of work, they can hopefully gain a sense of responsibility while providing them with inspiration to set goals and chase their dreams.

Friday — Nature Walk at Henderson Waves
Great for family outings, the Henderson waves is a structure standing at 36-metres above Henderson Road. Filled with a rich variety of flora and fauna, it s one of the best spots for a panoramic view of the Southern islands. The five kilometre hiking trail connects Mount Faber Park to Telok Blangah Hill Park and is a great way to spend some quality time out in the open away from the television with your child and the perfect way to end the school break.
