Chinese New Year: Fabulous Festive Family Fits

For the Year of the Horse, this Chinese New Year, we’ve scoured the best of local brands to curate this list of festive family fits. Expect modern takes on traditional outfits, and a host of wearable prints so you can match long after the New Year celebrations.

Auspicious Abundance

The Elly Store

One such brand is The Elly Store, which has designed Chinese New Year prints for an entire zodiac cycle. This year’s collection features four prints for each season. Highlights of these collections include 34 cotton jersey styles for the whole family – these jerseys are consistently among their bestsellers. Match these with 17 plain separates, such as shorts or pants. Other standouts include the 12 Disney styles, or two full family sets and Disney Princess dresses. Prices from $45.90 to $169.

Dear Lyla

Founders of local fashion brand Dear Lyla, Woon Qing Wen and Audrey Loo Yong Jia aimed to design various styles of clothes for all occasions. Their Lunar New Year collection features an array of family fits, such as Golden and Blue Treasures, Blue and Sand Peach Batik, Maroon, and Navy Springleaf. Even better, complete the look with bandannas for your furbabies. Prices from $12.90 to $58.90, with delivery options such as Grab Express ($15), standard courier shipping and self-collection at LTC Building C by appointment basis. 

Le Petit Society

Founded in 2012, the award-winning Le Petit Society has been recognised as a Made with Passion lifestyle brand. This year’s CNY collections are HeritageOriental, Lion Dance, Zodiac and a special collaboration with model Sheila Sim. In particular, the last features a rainbow horse print in navy for the family, with pink dresses in the matching print for the girls. Another option is the MBS Sunset Skyline Print from the Heritage Series. Complement these with matching bottoms.

Complete the New Year shopping with new pyjamas for the whole family. Content creator Grace Koh (graceglazee) designed these in a luxe bamboo fabric with pear print. Even better, personalise some of the tops and pyjamas with names, initials, and in Chinese or English (depending on the item). Prices from $30 to $148. 

Bochehas

The sustainable brand Bochehas has several designs for its Chinese New Year collection, showcasing 32 different designs for families, of which 14 are full family sets. Within, try the Ruby Linen series, offering 100 per cent linen crimson dresses for the females, and button down fuchsia shirts for the males. Another option is the Eden series, crafted from GOTS-certified Liberty Organic Tana Lawn™ cotton, great for visiting since it’s light, breathable and super soft. Prices from $64 to $356. 

Yeomama Batik

Founded by new mama Desleen Yeo, Yeomama Batik‘s New Year’s collection features myriad prints, such as Galloping Dreams and Butterbloom. Skilled artisans in Indonesia have masterfully created these batik designs, with talented seamstresses transforming the prints into wearable outfits. For example, the Galloping Dreams prints showcase three dress options for mums – one bareback, as well as a shirt and pants combo. Similarly, the butterscotch Butterbloom designs comprise three cheongsam designs for mums, with natural gemstone details. Complete the family fit with matching shirts for dads and boys and rompers for the little ones and dresses for girls. Prices from $88 to $248. 

Pretty in Prints

Maison Q

Now in its 11th year, Maison Q has a unique concept – reversible outfits for the little ones. Made of 100 per cent cotton, these outfits are inspired by the traditions, symbols and everyday wonders in seven different designs – one is single-sided. For example, the Little Calvary brings four ponies together to form a calvary, against a vibrant orange background. On the reverse side – only for the children’s items – is the Summer Palace, an ode to Beijing’s famous imperial gardens. Prices start from $55 to $149. 

Sea Apple

Named after one of the ten most common trees in Singapore, Sea Apple‘s collections are inspired by simple observations of life. Their New Year Series comprises 11 collections – though not all have a full set of clothes for the family. Of these, the Red Clover designs feature fsky-blue petals and rosy berries. Mums can don the modern take on the samfu top with a halter top, press studs down the seam and ribbon ties. Otherwise, choose the Blush Spring collection, with a halter cheongsam and midi dress for the ladies. Finish the look with matching cheongsams for the girls, and shirts for the guys. All pieces are made of sustainable GOTS cotton or recycled fibres. Prices from $54.90 to $209. 

Nimbu

Nimbu‘s Chinese New Year collections feature Gingham, Ember, Jade Blue, Ruby Blossom and Imperial designs for the whole family, taking the traditional cheongsam silhouette and infusing it with vivid, modern prints. For instance, the Imperial series has a bold, contemporary abstract pattern, made of super light cotton. All these pieces have also been handcrafted by artisanal block and screen printing techniques, and hand stitched by Jaipur artisans. Next, the Jade Blue collection is made from light, breathable 100 per cent cotton, perfect for a day of visiting. Price from $54.90 to $179.90.

Pastels

Mimi Mono

The family lifestyle brand Mimi Mono designs apparels known for their watercolour-esque designs and matching accessories, made from ethically sourced, eco-friendly cotton. In their 2026 Chinese New Year collection, new designs include the Sunlit Sparks, Blissful Blooms and Moonlit Glow. These are designed with original hand-drawn prints, with the Blissful Blooms set featuring soft pastel florals and clovers. Meanwhile, the Sunlit Sparks collection exudes the gentle aura of a seaside holidays, embodying the rhythm of the waves sparkling under the afternoon sun. Prices from $40 to $88. 

Dressed in Gabe

Dressed in Gabe has also launched several Chinese New Year collections, such as Flourishing Joy, Oriental Garden, Tangerine Bloom, Gentle Harmony, Golden Dawn, and Galloping Peony, for family fits that take inspiration from Chinese elements. 

For example, the Gentle Harmony series is designed to reflect whispers of bamboo in calming blues. Next, the Flourishing Joy collection reflects blossoming seasons. Prices from $48 to $88. 

Dressed in Gabe

In First Stitch‘s Chinese New Year collections, namely, Fortune in Bloom and Garden of Eden, both exclusive in-house prints,  mums have a few options – jumpsuits, dresses or separate tops and shorts or midi skirts, to complement the shirts, dresses, rompers and even pet bandanna. 

The Garden of Eden print features a watercolour-esque floral print. In a similar vein, the Fortune in Bloom print feature fortune cats enjoying the cherry blossoms. Prices from $13.80 to $58.80.

Chinoiserie Chic

Ohvola

 in its 19th year, homegrown brand Ohvola was founded by sisters Lucinda and Jolene Zhou.  Choose from the With Grace family collection, featuring three colour ways and floral prints, e.g., merlotsky and porcelain. Other more traditional options include the Eternal SunshineJia & Bloom NavyFor Eternity and Joy in Wonder in limited sizes. Prices start from $46.90 to $59.90 and backorder items will be shipped latest by end January.

The Cotton Tale

The Cotton Tale’s Tides of Treasure collection features tailor-made items inspired by the classic Japanese Seigaiha waves, and their signature pineapple foil detailing, using sustainable materials like lyocell and TENCEL™ cotton. Choose from redwood or taupe blush, with designs like a lightly smocked maxi dress or mandarin collared tiered dress. Matching items include t-shirts, dresses, shortalls and men’s shirt. Prices from $49 to $159, and may take up to five weeks to tailor-make. Orders including adults’ and children’s items will be shipped together.

Known for their award-winning family tees, Toddley Thoughts has also released nine different collections for this Lunar New Year. In the Cheongsam Edit, which features three colour ways like porcelain blue, lilac and blush, both mums and daughters have a two piece set, one with shorts for mum and a tulle skirt for the girls. For a more casual look, try the Tangerine Tees x Denim Club, with pinafore and denim dungaree options to match the tangerine tees, featuring adorable teddies and tangerines. Prices from $28 to $79.

Born in 2015, Singapore-based online shop Pocketpig Diary offers a variety of fashionable and affordable children clothing, with more than hundred designs of Chinese New Year outfits for the family. This year’s collections include Bamboo, Dove, Swallow, Porcelain, Peony and Orchid. To start with, bamboo represents strength, peace and flexibility. One highlight of this collection is the Kimono jumpsuit for mums. Similarly, the swallow is a symbol of happiness, vitality and ushering in spring. Prices from $50.90 to $70.90.

Nursing Essentials

Jump Eat Cry

Nursing, or currently growing the newest family member? Jump Eat Cry offers mums discreet nursing access, are maternity friendly while still coordinating looks with the rest of the family. Try the Lily Floral collection, or the Holly Floral – backorders are also open with a wider range of sizes, and should arrive by early February.
