Hands up, how many of you have watched Fergie’s latest single M.I.L.F. $? You must have, as it has absolutely taken the Internet by storm.Featuring fellow MILFs such as Kim Kardashian, Ciara, Alessandra Ambrosio and Chrissy Teigen, it makes a stand for mums everywhere by changing up the x-rated definition of M.I.L.F., instead using it to refer to Moms I’d Like to Follow.
In a statement released by Fergie herself, she reveals that “changing the acronym to Moms I’d Like to Follow is about empowering women who do it all. They have a career, a family, and still find the time to take care of themselves and feel sexy. With a wink of course :).” You know what? We couldn’t agree more which is why in this story, we take a look at the strong, independent mums who feature in the video and why they embody this new definition of a M.I.L.F:
Gemma Ward
This Australian doe-eyed cover girl was discovered at the tender age of 14, and has been in the fashion industry for over a decade and get this, she was the youngest model to ever grace the cover of US Vogue. Back in 2008, Gemma had a hard time dealing with the death of ex-boyfriend Heath Ledger. However, that was before she met and married photographer David Letts, and gave birth to daughter Naia in 2013.
In an interview with Yahoo, Gemma said “[Naia has] changed my life for the better, she’s my reason to live and my reason to grow as a person. I feel like I’m more carefree, but I also have direction.”

Why we love her: She bounced back from her battle with depression stronger than ever, and is a great mum to Naia.
Chrissy Teigen
Of Thai-Norwegian descent, Chrissy is best known for her Sports Illustrated covers. The curvy swimsuit model is now best known for breastfeeding daughter Luna in the video, and yes, even though she has an amazing figure, she isn’t afraid to admit that she feels insecure about her looks. In an interview with the Daily Mail, the wife of singer John Legend was quoted as saying while ‘she ‘wasn’t feeling my sexiest’, she perked up on set due to the song and the feeling that everyone was rooting for her.’ Talk about girl power at its strongest!
Why we love her: Apart from being a mum, the model still found time to publish her own cookbook — Cravings: Recipes for All the Food You want to Eat, which is a compilation of all her favourite recipes! We also admire how she didn’t shy away from sharing her IVF story and her struggles when trying to get pregnant. We give her major props for honesty.
Alessandra Ambrosio

The Victoria’s Secret Angel starred with daughter Anja in Fergie’s video. The mum of Anja and Noah is one of the world’s most coveted models, having walked the catwalk for designers the likes of Dolce & Gabbana and Prada, and was the face of campaigns for Christian Dior, Rolex, and Oscar de la Renta, just to name a few. And her portfolio doesn’t stop there! When not on the runway, she has starred in hit series How I Met Your Mother and Gossip Girl, and does hosting gigs as well. On top of that, she never fails to make an appearance at the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
Happy birthday my baby boy !!!!??????? #NoahPhoenix #youraremysunshine

Why we love her: this power mama isn’t just a pretty face! She is also an ambassador for the National Sclerosis Society.
Angela Lindvall
A famous advocate for the health, wellness, and all things green, Angela now lives on a small farm with her two boys in Topanga Canyon, California, where she makes it a point to teach them the importance of sustainability. Besides being a model, actress, and TV host, this mum of two is also a teacher of kundalini yoga, an avid environmentalist and a wellness advocate. In short, she’s certainly a well-rounded individual.

Why we love her: this super environmentalist once lived in a tugboat on the Hudson river for two years, that she had restored to sustainable, ecological standards. She also launched the Collage Foundation, a nonprofit that focuses on environmental awareness, and does her bit on educating her boys on the importance of environmental sustainability.
Isabeli Fontana

The feisty Brazilian has been in the industry for close to a decade, and has graced the covers of many a major fashion magazine in her career, but we don’t see her star fading any time soon. She isn’t afraid to be herself, and tells it like it is.
Why we love her: having son Zion at the age of 19 didn’t stop her from giving up on her dreams. She continued being herself, and was still a great mum.
Amber Valletta

A fashion veteran who has worked with the who’s who of the fashion world, Amber has found success as both a model and an actress over the years, to the point where model and actress are just two of the many hats she wears.

Why we love her: Amber has been very open about her struggle with drug and alcohol addiction, striving to help others in similar situations. At the same time, she also actively promotes environmental sustainability, saying “it only makes sense, especially with a child of my own now, to do what I can to protect our world.” As such, the mumpreneur founded Master & Muse by Amber Valletta, offering fashion created and produced by some of industry’s most socially responsible designers.
Tara Lynn
This curvy, voluptuous woman has made a name for herself in the fashion industry, having worked with the likes of renowned photographer Patrick Demarchelier and gracing the covers of Vogue, Elle, and Glamour.
Why we love her: Apart from turning the fashion world on its head, Tara Lynn is also a linguistics degree holder and a classically trained singer. We think she is the role model for all females out there, giving the message that you do not have to be a sample size to be beautiful.
Devon Aoki
This outfit is on point! You know I had to have the doughnut ears, right?! @bcompleted #milfmoney

Why we love her: despite being who she is, Devon remains down-to-earth and unpretentious.
Natasha Poly

The Russian bombshell, L’Oreal Paris ambassador and mum of one is one of the most coveted models in the industry. She has broken many records, such as gracing the cover of Vogue France seven times, and still manages to keep up with the current It Girls in the industry, having recently been the face of the latest Versace campaign with Gigi Hadid.
Why we love her: Natasha wanted to be a professional makeup artist when she was younger, and is living her dream in her own unique way with the hashtag #NPolyMakeUp, where she showcases how she does her makeup for events — a great way to connect with the masses!
Kim Kardashian West
Best known for her sensuous curves, Kim Kardashian is confident and comfortable in her own skin. Her Instagram feed is full of family-oriented photos (have you seen all the cute mummy and me photos of her with North?) which is a rarity in the celebrity world nowadays. Despite the rumours and scandals she and her family are embroiled in, she doesn’t let it affect her daily life, and goes about being the best mum and wife she can be.
Why we love her: Kim doesn’t see the need to fit into the cookie cutter mold of a skinny girl, and embraces her curves to the fullest, often being photographed in skintight outfits.
Ciara
A Grammy-award winning singer, songwriter and actress, the recently married mum of one knew what she wanted from a young age and pursued being a singer with a vengeance.
A video posted by Ciara (@ciara) on
Why we love her: the singer strives to use her fame to make a difference in the world, having been part of Unilever’s “Share a Meal” campaign, the First Lady’s “Reach Higher” and “Better Make Room” campaigns, and working with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
