If you find yourself in the Bukit Timah area looking to indulge in something sinful, head over to Sugarhaus and Fat Belly at Serene Centre for a quick fix. Here’s our review of their space and offerings.
Founded by banker-turned-food entrepreneur Stanley Seow, dessert parlour Sugarhaus recently rebranded and expanded, and now has the capacity to fit 45 customers at any one time.
Though they don’t have a dedicated kids menu, parents will be delighted to find kid-friendly nosh such as Corn and Zucchini Fritters and Melted Cheese Toasties on the menu, besides the homemade desserts and 18 different flavours of ice cream on rotation.
On weekends and public holidays from 11am to 5pm, little ones can enjoy a special bouncy castle available set up on the outdoor patio while parents enjoy their meal.
The neighbourhood joint also became home to a new sister brand, Fat Belly, a speakeasy-style steakhouse that offers alternative cuts of beef from 6pm onwards – perfect for a casual date night. All steaks come with a side of house salad and chimichurri sauce. Additional sides such as Creamed Kale and Roasted Spiced Sweet Potato are available as well, before rounding off the meal with dessert.
Whether for brunch or dessert treat with the kids or a dinner date, this cosy little joint is the perfect place.
