Sometimes, the week whizzes by so fast and you’re left stumped for things to do with the kids over the weekend. Here’s a quick list of things you can do without too much planning and guarantees great quality time with the kids.

Watch Netflix
Sometimes all you wanna do is laze in the comfort of your own home. I know I do! Get cosy on the couch with the kids, whip up their favourite snacks and watch – KungFu Panda Holiday, Elf, Surf’s Up, Chicken Run and Holiday Classics. I usually take this time to really cuddle my kids especially after the busy school and work week.

Head To The Park Or Beach
Grab the scooters, a ball, frisbee and a great picnic basket and head to a park you’ve not been to before. Arrange a scavenger hunt (love!) and then sit on a cute blanket and enjoy the day with the kids. If you’d rather not pack a picnic, Sentosa offers some pretty good kid-friendly cafes by the beach. Coastes is a particular favourite of my family but Wavehouse is another great option especially for the budding surfer.

Catch A Movie
Treat the kids to popcorn and a movie. Movies on this weekend include; Justice League, My Little Pony: The Movie, Coco with Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, The Lego Ninjago Movie and Monster Family.

Kid-Friendly Restaurant
Cafes and restaurants that get mum’s approval for either play areas or spaces for kids to run or scoot include; Cafe Melba, Coastes, The Pantry, Kith, Tin Hill and Georges.

Outdoor Playgrounds, Indoor Playgrounds & Trampoline Parks
If the weather holds up, head to the new Admiralty playground and try out their 26 slides or head to the East Coast playground which boasts a section for younger ones. Indoor –  Amazonia, Polliwogs, Let Em’ Play and Bounce are all good options.

Recycled Art
Grab old newspapers, toilet paper rolls, fabric and wrapping paper scraps, paints, markers, glue – whatever art and recyclable supplies you have, really – and get creative with the kids.

Bake A Cake
Another favourite in our home. Kids love helping out in the kitchen, it is a great way to impart some science into the day and add sensory play for the younger ones. Boxed cakes are fine too!

Fairs & Attractions
Great attractions this weekend include Singapore Zoo’s The Land Of Giants; The Affordable Art Fair has a kids installation this year, so check it out. Visit our Events page for more great events.
