5 Things Mums Need To Know About Amazon Prime Now Service In Singapore

After months of speculation that Amazon would be making their debut in Singapore, the day has finally arrived and Amazon has launched their Amazon Prime Now today (27 July 2017). Here’s what you need to know about making an order on Amazon Prime Now for your family:

1. Only available via Mobile App
If you’re hoping to try out this new delivery service, you’ll have to first download the mobile app on your phone. We’re sure that desktop options will be available in time to come, but for now, mobile is the way to go.

2.Get items delivered to you within 2 hours
This service is especially useful for mums who may not have a supermarket located within walking distance, yet they require an item urgently at home for their little ones.

An Amazon Prime Membership is required to enjoy this service but for now, it is available to all customers. To enjoy free two-hour delivery, all you need to do is place an order of S$40 or more. Otherwise, delivery charges are S$5.99 for two-hour delivery and if you need your items really urgently, opt for the speedier one-hour delivery option at S$9.99.

Do note that the 2-hour delivery guarantee is subject to available delivery slots as we tried making an order at 10am, but the earliest delivery slot was 4pm-6pm.

3. Baby items and groceries are available on Prime Now

Though it’s been reported that the range of items is limited, it has the most important things that mums may need delivered to their home and its sorted by department – Baby and Food & Beverage (Groceries).

A quick browse through the mobile app shows the availability of formula milk, baby wipes, and diapers in the baby department and all manner of groceries available from peanut butter and fresh vegetables to instant noodles and even beer.

4.Products are competitively priced

You would naturally think that prices must be more expensive since Prime Now offers free 2-hour delivery but that’s not the case. We did a quick comparison of some essentials are found prices pretty similar to other online delivery platforms.
