Popcorn Recipes for Family Movie Night

By Jessica

I love making popcorn at home for the little ones, they are such a fun snack and quick to make over the stove or in the microwave. Here are four easy ways to dress up the corn puffs for a fancy movie night at home or as a tasty snack at children parties.

Nachos  Popcorn

To make this savoury version, crush up some BBQ flavour nacho chips in a bag and set aside. Now what are pepperoni chips? I stumbled upon this food hack one day and it works like a charm. If you lay out slices of pepperoni between 2 paper towels and microwave for around one and a half minutes, the pepperoni slices crisp up beautifully and stay really crisp. Make a batch of pepperoni chips and cut them in half. Mix both the nacho crumbs and the pepperoni chips into a bowl of popcorn for an amazing bowl of nachos popcorn.popcorn_nachos

Birthday Cake Popcorn

Pop a bowl of popcorn, mix in as much cookies and cream chocolate as you would like. Pop the mixture into the microwave for 30 seconds and mix again to soften the chocolate and really coat the popcorn. Top it off with the sprinkles and you have a truly Instagram-worthy treat perfect for birthday parties.

Speculoos Popcorn

We love the Speculoos Cookie Butter from Poppy & Co. and the salty sweet flavour is a perfect combination with popcorn. Mix a large spoon of crunchy cookie butter into a bowl of popcorn, pop the bowl into the microwave for 30 secs to melt the butter. Stir in honey stars to the bowl for some extra texture!

Rocky Road Popcorn

The combination of chocolate and marshmallows is a classic and it works for popcorn too. Top a bowl of popcorn with chocolate shavings, heat in microwave for 30 seconds and mix in marshmallows to the mixture.
