Now You See Me: From Screen to Stage

This February and March, Singapore theatre-goers have been buzzing about the Southeast Asian premiere of Now You See Me Live at Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands — and for good reason. Based on the globe-famous Now You See Me film franchise, this stage adaptation, brought to the Singapore crowd by Base Entertainment; brings a spectacle of illusions, sleight-of-hand, and high-tech stagecraft to life in a way that’s both thrilling and accessible for families.

Showing until 8 March 2026, the production is inspired by the global blockbuster film franchise from Lionsgate, and brought to life by the producers of the record-breaking phenomenon The Illusionists, this cutting-edge stage spectacular rewrites the rules of reality in Now You See Me Live, a show you have to see to believe, delivering an unforgettable experience for Singapore audiences.

From the moment the lights dim, audiences are plunged into a world where nothing is quite what it seems. Four world-class illusionists — collectively known as The Horsemen — weave together mind-bending tricks and daring stunts that have drawn comparisons to blockbuster magic shows in Las Vegas and Broadway. The pace is brisk and filled with jaw-dropping illusions that have left children and adults alike whispering “how did they do that?” throughout the 120-minute performance.

Now You See Me Live: The Cast

The Four Horsemen deliver the palpable thrill that only live magic can create. Every illusion and every heart-stopping escape unfolds in real time before audiences – there is no cut, no second take. Leading the show are Andrew Basso from Italy, Gabriella Lester from Canada, Matthew Pomeray from United Kingdom and Pablo Cánovas from Spain.

Kid-Friendly for 8 and up

From sudden disappearances to eye-catching visual effects, the production values are polished and impressive. For parents planning a theatre outing with younger kids, the show’s General (G) rating and recommended age of 8 and up make it a reassuring choice. However, adults should note that some special effects such as strobe lighting and fog may affect sensitive viewers. The Sands Theatre’s clear sightlines and comfortable seating also make it easier for children to stay focused throughout the approximately two-hour show.

Overall, Now You See Me Live is an engaging introduction to large-scale theatre and stage magic for families. It offers enough wonder and surprise to spark conversations long after the final curtain call. Hence, it’s a memorable option for a weekend treat or school-holiday outing.

Critics and parents alike will appreciate the production for striking a rare balance between big-stage spectacle and genuine audience interaction, with plenty of humour and crowd participation punctuating the illusions. One such trick involves the audience picking out four cards before the show starts.

Whether you’re a fan of the films or simply looking for a wow-worthy night out with kids or teens, Now You See Me Live delivers entertainment that feels fresh, exciting, and truly magical.
