He’s best known for his portrayal of the Green Lantern (where, incidentally, he met his beautiful wife Blake Lively) and Deadpool but when he’s not on screen Ryan Reynolds is one of the most lovable dads we’ve come across.
Ryan also recently caught our eye because his appearance at Taylor Swift’s Fourth of July party has had the Internet going crazy. This photo (below) has become the source of numerous memes and the butt of many jokes, but the good-natured actor just took everything in his stride. His cool demeanour, sense of humour and love for his daughter makes him the perfect choice for this week’s dad crush:
Notoriously private about his personal life, he rarely posts photos about his family, and daughter James’ face has yet to be shown to the public. But when he brings his loved ones up, his posts have the unique ability to be both funny yet heartwarming at the same time.
The Canadian actor is obviously a family-oriented man, most evidently when he named his daughter James in honour of his father, who passed away not long before James was born.
Fatherhood clearly suits Ryan well and he continues to wow us all in the style department. He was even named one of the Most Stylish Men Alive for 2016 by GQ. No letting go for this dad!
Thank you @jimmooregq and @gq — Although, in shots like these, I'm almost never wearing pants. — #Repost @gq ・・・ Ryan Reynolds earned a place on our Most Stylish Men in the World issue with his leading-man-level wardrobe that’s somehow classic and swerve-y at the same time. Check the link in bio for more have-to-see-it-again looks.
We love how he and Blake share a similar sense of humour — clearly the recipe for a good marriage.
On a more serious note, Ryan supports numerous causes, proving that underneath his hunky exterior lies a generous heart. These causes include Make A Wish America, The Charlotte and Gwenyth Foundation to Cure Batten, and his is the new philanthropic ambassador for Eddie Bauer in partnership with American Forests.
I'm not one to be serious on social media often. But this is worth a moment of clarity. Rare diseases are the HARDEST to cure. Why? Because there's less demand for funding. Please help me in supporting Charlotte & Gwenyth and all others battling rare diseases! Please regram to help @curebatten win $500K in funding! Include in your post #vote #UpgradeYourWorld and @curebatten to cast your vote for The Charlotte & Gwenyth Gray Foundation to Cure Batten! Please vote every day! Thank you!
Planted their 50 millionth tree this morning. 50 million! I named this little seedling, Gordon. She's doing just fine in her new home. There are few things I love more than the outdoors – so I’m proud to be working with @EddieBauer as their new philanthropic ambassador in support of their @AmericanForests partnership in an effort to preserve our forests. Here’s how you can help: www.eddiebauer.com/campaign/americanforests #LiveYourAdventure
But our favourite pic of him as got to be the one his doting wife Blake posted where he was babywearing baby James in celebration of his first Father’s Day this year. The pure look of bliss on his face makes us feel that James and the little one on the way will be two of the luckiest children with Ryan as a dad.
