Dad Crush Monday: Christopher Lee

By Samantha Jong
March 20, 2017

He has come a long way from being a butcher’s assistant to the famous star he is now. And unlike many actors who have been in the industry for as long as he has, Christopher Lee has managed to keep up with his younger counterparts, thanks to his acting prowess and boyish good looks.

Not content with just dominating the Singapore market, he moved to establish his name in Taiwan, winning Best Actor at the 2014 Golden Bell Awards, the annual Taiwanese television production awards. He’s also a caring, lovey-dovey husband to wife and actress Fann Wong, and dad to cute little Zed, and that is why he’s our dad crush of the week.

Despite his greying hair, he still remains suave and sophisticated, especially when he graces the covers of magazines.

Thank you…… #esquiresg #cartiersg #whatdrivesyou #catwalkasia

That’s not the only side he shows when he’s featured in the magazines. He’s also a devoted husband and loving father.

Given that he took time to attending the recent Guns N’ Roses tour, there may be a secret rocker side to him too.

Lets ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #gunsnroses2017 #notinthislifetimetour???? Thank you #Onefm913 #LAMCproductions

There’s no doubt that he is a family man.

The actor is a self-professed hands-on dad when it comes to Zed. Even before Zed was born, Christopher was already volunteering to learn how to care for him, change his diapers and bathe him. He believes in fostering open communication channels when the time comes, and wants to be seen as a friend as well as a parent.

After Zed was born, he was exactly that, even volunteering for diaper duty and taking over some of the confinement nanny’s duties!

In an interview he did with Esquire, he said that he never wants to force Zed to do something against his will. What an enlightened father he is.

Luckily for local audiences, he still makes time to star in local productions, and he was part of the 2017 film, The Fortune Handbook. So even though he is now based primarily in Taiwan, it looks like we won’t be seeing the last of Christopher Lee yet!
