Hike through Nature Parks and Trails

Even in our concrete jungle, we are not short of nature parks and hiking trails where you can get to spend some time in the great outdoors. Grab a picnic basket and head over the Singapore Botanic Gardens, our very own UNESCO World Heritage site. Volunteers conduct walking tours every weekend too so it’s a chance for you to learn more about the flora and fauna of the park. Thomson Nature Park also boasts of its rich cultural heritage where you can gain an insight into the ways of life in a Hainan Village. The Treetop Walk has always been one of our fave family hiking trails. Once you reach the top, the view from the suspension bridge is absolutely breathtaking. Do check the NParks website for regular updates and maintenance schedule before you head down.

There’s nothing quite like a water park with huge buckets, jet sprays, slides and more, to cool off on a hot day. Furthermore, most of these water play areas are free! Play @ Heights Park at Toa Payoh has jet sprays and water guns, while Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park has incorporated educational features like water gates to allow kids to learn about the movement of water. There are also water playgrounds like Kidz at the Wet Play Area at Northpoint City with long tunnel slides or the Children’s Garden at Gardens by the Bay with movement sensor sprays.
