Get mesmerised!

Can you believe it? Our beloved nation is turning 53 in a few days. We’ve come so far, struggled through so much as a nation and here we stand loud and proud of all we’ve accomplished.

There’s always an air of patriotism as we get ever closer to the much-awaited National Day celebrations – children humming along to the latest song they’d been practicing in school, blocks upon blocks of HDB flats decorated in the National Flag, surely make you stop for a minute to marinate in all that national pride.

But, if attending the National Day Parade is a no-go for you this year, we’ve lined up some spots where you can catch the fireworks in all its fascinating glory.

Just be sure to be at your spot early because the fireworks usually go off just after 8pm, between 8.15pm to 8.30pm.

These places are popular with both locals and tourists alike and if you don’t mind crowds so much, its a perfect spot for spectacular views of the fireworks. Get there early though!

The Promontory@Marina Bay

A great spot with a magnificent backdrop to soak in the atmosphere and appreciate the Singapore skyline.

Marina Bay Sands

If you plan to make an evening of it, make a reservation at one of the restaurants (book early!) and dine while you catch the pyrotechnics display in all its glory or hang out at the open terrace and enjoy it from there.

Marina Barrage

A good option if you hate the crowds and don’t mind a little obstruction.

Gardens By The Bay East

Not as popular as the rest but an awesome place all the same to soak in the Singapore skyline and watch it alight when the fireworks get going.

Hotels – Marina Bay Sands, Ritz Carlton Millenia, South Beach Marriott, Fairmont

If you’re willing to splurge and there are still rooms available, book a room at one of these hotels for a luxurious experience without putting up with a hot, sweaty crowd.

Restaurants – The Pelican, Overeasy, Lavo, Bread Street Kitchen, Forlino, Level 33 and 1-Altitude

These are just some of the restaurants, dining places and bars which offer incredible views of the fireworks while you’re dining or catching up with friends. Book early!
