We love our Sunday brunches. We love them even more when we can nosh with our readers. That we did at Black Tap Craft Burgers and Beer at Marina Bay Sands. On September 30, Mummyfique invited 10 Mums and their families to brunch at the first Asian outpost of the iconic New York-based burger restaurant that serves up award-winning burgers and wow-factor, indulgent milkshakes that have an international fanbase.
From the moment of arrival, it was a day of sweet treats. Guests were given a Black Tap tote bag with tees and caps for both adults and little ones. They got a choice of either a classic shake or Black Tap’s wow-factor trademarked CrazyShakes™.
With their highly-Instagrammable good looks, each massive milkshake is like a Willy-Wonka fantasy poured into a glass. Loaded with delicious ingredients and toppings, hot picks were the Cotton Candy, a strawberry milkshake topped with blue, pink and pearl chocolate balls, a lollipop, cotton candy, and whipped cream; The Cakeshake, a cake batter concoction of funfetti cake slices, whipped cream, rainbow sprinkles and a cherry; and the vanilla Cookie Shake, that is topped with lots of cookie crumbles, chocolate chips, whipped cream and chocolate drizzle.
To keep little ones occupied before the food was served, there were badge-making and tote-decorating stations, featuring Black Tap-themed stencils.
Families chowed down on Black Tap’s signature burgers that include classics like The All-American (a prime beef patty with lettuce, tomato, pickles, American cheese and a special sauce) and The Californian turkey burger with avocado, swiss cheese and truffle mayo. Vegetarians weren’t left out – The Falafel Burger has a delicious chickpea patty, slathered with tahini and hummus, and laden with pickled onion and Greek feta.
The highlight of course: The Cantonese BBQ Burger, served with sweet potato fries. Only exclusive to the Singapore branch, it has all the elements of a classic burger and then some. The Asian twist is a black-bean and garlic mayo, a sambal barbeque sauce and spicy pickles. Other family favourites served up for brunch: Fried Mozzarella, Queso (a zesty cheese sauce) and Chips and Idaho Fries.
