Everyone’s invited to the big Australia Day celebration at The Australian International School where there’ll be a great BBQ going on filled with delicious, juicy meats. There’s also organic sodas, ice pops, fairy floss, popcorn and even ice kachang. Don’t worry the little ones aren’t left out. They can play in the bouncy castle or at the dedicated supervised area for those under five. So head on out to enjoy the day, Aussie-style.

Huayi 2017 — Chinese Festival of Arts 

It’s the annual esplanade celebration of the Chinese arts, and in the 15th edition of Huayi, there’s an array of both ticketed and free programmes that span across theatre, dance, music, visual arts and more. So why not join in the festivities? If attending performances aren’t your thing, participate in the parent and child creative workshops where you can make your own handmade traditional Chinese fan or create your own lucky rooster charm to bring home.

Chingay 2017

First formed to compensate the ban on firecrackers in Singapore and to add to the festive spirit, Chingay has now evolved into a celebration of Singapore’s multicultural society with many beautifully decorated floats. Bring the whole family to take part in this uniquely Singaporean festival, which is the largest street performance and float parade in Asia. .

Romeo & Juliet Untold

THE PARTY PLANNER’S TALE . CREDIT Geraint Lewis

Here’s a show that even the adults will like given its interesting take on the famous tragic love story of Romeo and Juliet. The one woman performance is a retelling of the tale of the star-crossed lovers by the Capulet’s party planner. It’s a refreshing approach and a great opportunity to pique your little one’s interest in literature.

The Snail and the Whale 

It’s a tale about a tiny snail as she travels around the world on the tail of a humpback whale in search of adventure. That is until the whale is beached and the snail is left to find a way to save him. Hear about their adventure as narrated by an adventurous young girl and her seafaring father. Recommended for children aged four and up.

Thousand Colours in Celebration

Get your creative juices flowing with Thousand Colours in Celebration, where the public is invited to participate in art making sessions and dance performances. Little ones aged three and up can also participate in dance and art classes, led by the arts granary.
