Mum Crush Wednesday: Natalie Portman

By Samantha Jong
September 21, 2016

Actress, producer, director and now wife and mother, Natalie Portman is the epitome of an impressive mum.  Her amazing ability to balance the wearing of so many hats is precisely why she’s our mum crush of the week!

She and choreographer husband Benjamin Millepied, who she met on the set of her hit movie Black Swan, have two children, a five-year-old son Aleph, and a daughter Amalia who was born on February 22 2017. No wonder she was a no show at the recent Oscars even though she was nominated for Best Actress.

The actress had announced that she was giving Aleph a sibling at the recent 2016 Venice Film Festival at the premiere of her new film, Planetarium. She looked gorgeous as she showcased her budding baby bump beautifully in a Dior Couture toga gown.

She also looked amazing in this embroidered Dior coat dress at the Toronto International Film Festival.

She paired the dress with a simple silver clutch, black heels and an elegant ponytail. Natalie makes looking good seem so effortless.

Natalie played the iconic Jackie Kennedy in the film ‘Jackie’, which got her her nomination for Best Actress at the 2017 Academy. Director Pablo Larraín was so sure he wanted Natalie to play Jackie Kennedy that he said: “I didn’t see anyone else playing her.” She does look like she could be Jackie’s doppelgänger.

Proving that she does elegance well in this gorgeous Valentino gown, paired with Bulgari jewellery.

She made her directorial debut with ‘A Tale of Love and Darkness’.

She has even managed to find time to be the cover girl of Vanity Fair Italia and Miami Magazine.

Natalie is the face of Dior Beauty.

However, when she’s not acting, directing, producing, walking the red carpet or being a muse, Natalie is your typical young mother and has been quoted as saying, “when I’m not working, I’m pretty much exclusively with my family, so my rituals have to do with school, meal preparation, playdates, bedtime.”

And that’s what we love most about her, that under all the glitz and glamour, she’s just like us!
