Little ones get to play in a room filled with cushions, cartoons and engaging activities, while the adults enjoy Cantonese delights such as Spicy chilli lobster served with a bun, Stir-fried XO abalone with asparagus and steamed bamboo clam with minced garlic. Located in the Singapore Botanic Gardens, the family-friendly cafe, Bee’s Knees, has come up with locally-inspired creations to celebrate our nation’s birthday. Share the Smoked Duck and Spicy Plum Vinaigrette Salad with the family as a starter. Then choose between the ‘Hae Bee Hiam’ Tiger Prawns Linguine or the Chicken ‘Tikka’ Pizza for your mains. Gardens by the Bay

The national flower, the orchid, is the star at Gardens by the Bay’s Orchid Extravaganza, which depicts Singapore’s story through the life cycle of a butterfly, emphasising how much Singapore has changed over the years. The dazzling display of flowers has been put together by award-winning garden designer Peter Cheok and you can’t miss the sculpture made of 52 butterflies to commemorate Singapore’s 52nd birthday.
