Bump Fashion: Figure Hugging Outfits

By Samantha Jong
March 29, 2017

With pregnancy, you can expect many changes, both physical and mental. And one the biggest changes is how curvy your figure will get. Instead of hiding it under billowy empire cut dresses, take a leaf out of these hot mamas’ books and flaunt your curves in a figure-hugging outfit!

Many stars have gone down the bodycon route while expecting, but the one mum who is absolutely rocking this look now is Beyonce. Follow her example and get an all black ensemble with a sexy shoulder cut out for a girls night out. Complete the look with statement earrings, thigh-high boots and a choker for a glamorous rock chick vibe.

Another way to style a bodycon dress is by throwing on a leather jacket for a chic, edgy look.

If black is too boring for you, channel sweet and girly vibes with nudes and dusty pink colours. Pair with heels to elongate your legs for date night or nude sneakers to run your errands.

Bodycon dresses don’t always need to have sleeves and you’ll want to pick a sleeveless number if you stay in a country that is hot and humid like Singapore. Jazz it up with the right accessorises!

"Empowered women empower women" | I am so passionate about women supporting women. In fact the very core of launching NSM was to create a non judgemental space, that celebrates ALL mothers, regardless of choices and differences. But I think it's also important to remember that before we support and celebrate other women, we need to celebrate ourselves. As women we are often our own harshest critic, comparing and judging ourselves – our careers, our appearance, our mothering styles- we're constantly pulled in a million directions & juggling so many things, but often don't feel like we're mastering anything. Social media doesn't help- it encourages us to look for validation through likes and comments, but until we feel happy and confident within ourselves I can guarantee a million likes from strangers on an app won't make you happy. I've been struggling to keep all my balls in the air these last couple of weeks juggling work commitments with school commitments and an extra clingy (& naughty) boy while hubby's away. I've had two car accidents, smashed my phone, driven to school without his backpack one day, his lunch the next, missed soccer, forgot library day & drama day, missed meetings & events, lost track of emails and lost my patience more times than I'd care to admit… and all the while I'm GROWING A HUMAN & not sleeping! Mum life is certainly not easy, but it's so nice to have this community who gets it, supports each other and has a laugh along the way. Let's remember SELF LOVE first. So here's to you mamas- whether you're taking on the world or doing the school run in your PJs & 5 day old dirty top knot (and spending the evening scraping mashed up tiny teddy's out of a school bag ??) you're amazing & deserve to be celebrated everyday! Now here's an old pic because I haven't had time to take photos for weeks! #internationalwomensday #mumlife #selflove #humpday #bumpday #notsomumsy

If you don’t want to put on too many accessories, pick a dress that has fancy detailing on it. And you don’t always need to pair it with covered shoes. A pair of embellished sandals can look just as polished.

Another way to keep things interesting is to pick a printed bodycon dress or go all out with a fully embroidered number. You will definitely catch the eye of everyone in the room.

Don’t fancy wearing a dress? You can embrace your curves with a tight, midi skirt, and pair with a loose cropped top.

So I've been asked many times if we're finding out baby's gender. We were always planning to, we did with Archie, and being a bit of a control freak I never understood wanting a "surprise"… surely having a baby was enough of a surprise? I was planning to do a big gender reveal and all, but now we've totally done a 180! We might find out closer to the due date if we feel it will help Archie with bonding and to adjust (at the moment he only wants a girl ?) But for us, this baby has been so hard won and we think the icing on the cake will be the reveal at the end. || ?
